Civil War reenactment – Dollinger Farm Minooka

Civil War Days

At least a few times a year I end up on assignment at an event I wish I would have done a “take your kids to work day.” Last October that was when the Joliet Herald News sent me to Channahon to cover the Civil Wars Days, a two day reenactment of a civil war battle, at Dollinger Farms. Most of the reenactors actually camp on the farm and they have tents selling goods and stuff in a main area where pumpkins and other fun family stuff can be done.

Below are some photos that did and didn’t make the paper and online gallery.

So, a year later I’m off to take the kids, this time not on assignment, but to see the civil war come to life.
